Three different tronadoes including this wedge tornado with debris ball passed east behind the Lincoln Nebraska Airport. This storm was on the ground for minutes and then started lifting & coming back down again at least three times from my vantage point. Photos were taken around 3:00 PM April 26, 2024 looking east over the Lincoln Nebraska Airport in foreground.
My 4th & 5th Tornado today this time the twins were crossing over I-80 heading towards Shelby & Harlan Iowa. Unfortunately I saw this storm grow into a large long track wedge and damaged many farmers homes & property while it stayed on the ground. I'm not sure if there were injuries which I'm hoping everyone effected survived.
An incredible storm chasing day today in Lincoln Nebraska and Iowa but all five tornadoes were severely destructive unfortunately to property.
Praying for everyone impacted by these storms.
I am proud to have covered the NOAA GOES-R, GOES-S, GOES-T, weather satellites and very soon GOES-U rocket launches from Cape Kennedy to continue to improve the weather data that all these communities need for safety & increase notifications times when violent weather like this occurs.
